Fabulous Boutique Hotel in Prague!
fab little hotel, close to wencesles square (walking distance) and even closer to a metro and tram stop. staff were really helpful and if you want you can organise trips from the hotel. if you can pre book your taxi, it will cheaper than getting it from the hotel.

Trendy and clean boutique hotel in Prague
lovely hotel, very clean and comfortable. (beds a bit firm)! very polite and helpful staff and great breakfast!
A tram ride out of the city centre in a quiet residential area. we found several local restaurants which were much cheaper than the city centre and the food was lovely.
Worth finding out where the nearest tram/metro stop is on day one! we found out that we had been walking much too far on day 3! we would definately visit Prague again and definately stay at the Ametyst.

Beautiful 4 star hotel in Prague
The room was very nice if slightly tight on space. The bathroom and shower facilities were excellent. Unlike many hotels in Europe this one had non-smoking rooms. The breakfast was excellent with a large variety of hot and cold foods. Room service food was also good and not too pricey if you choose wisely. Staff was very helpful. We loved the location and neighborhood, It's a short walk to the metro and tram but very convenient to the tourist areas without being right in them. Lots of restaurants nearby as well as supermarkets and convenience stores. While not being the cheapest place one can stay it was a real value. We would definitely go back again. Great accommodation in Prague
Just returned from Hotel Ametyst which was my second stay .Again I thought it was excellent for what we payed .Despite being a little way out the underground and trams to the major parts of the city are about 5 mins away. Room immaculate and breakfast very substantial .You also benefit from the very much cheaper restaurants in the area. Prague I noticed was much more expensive than my visit 3 years ago . Staff very friendly and helpful
Very nice prague boutique hotel, not far from city center
we've just returned from an excellent stay at what I can honestly say is the best hotel we've stayed in, the staff were all freindly polite and helpfull, the room was exaclly as was shown on the hotel website and was spottless. The location is great as it's about 20 min walk from the centre but away from all the tram noise.I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough ,if like us this is your first visit to Prague the you won't go wrong staying here.If you turn right out of the hotel and then first left there's a great place to eat and drink within 2 min walk.Hotel breakfast was fresh and plentyfull we did'nt dine in the hotel resturant but what we did have in the hotel lounge bar was excellent.Dont go to Prague without visiting the castle as this was a great day out and the food in the castle cafe was great.

Absolutely fantastic hotel in centre of Prague
Hotel Ametyst is situated in Vinohrady, a quiet, leafy residential area. For those who enjoy being near all the wonderful sights and places Prague has to offer, but not experiencing all the late night noise etc. this makes a wonderful base.Only 15 min stroll to Wenceslas Sq and near tram and metro.Hotel stay was fantastic.Staff, rooms and breakfasts were top class.Simply can't fault anything and we're already planning a return trip as soon as we possibly can. Don't be phased by exploring Prague, using the fabulous public transport system.Whether metro, tram or bus, it's simple and straiJust got back from a 3-night visit to Prague and hotel Ametyst.
As a party of four, we all thought the hotel, location and quality was excellent.
The rooms were superb, and I could not possibly expect anything better for what we paid... got 3 nights for the price of two and only paid ?140 per couple. Breakfast was hearty... each as much or as little as you wished and believe me there was an excellent choice, right up until 10am when the last quests could be seated.
Location.... yes a little bit far out, but make the most of this an eat locally and 1/3rd of the price you eat in town... Prague IS EXPENSIVE for everything except beer...
We found a small bistro where we enjoyed a 2-course meal from the extensive menu and round a 2 drinks - total bill 820 CSK - approx ?25.... in town and near the castle you can easily pay ?9 for two coffees !!!
So did not eat evening meal in hotel, had a few drinks and WOW they are expensive in here.. so unless you like a SMOKEY bar area, avoid wetting you lips here.
Staff, reception and all staff, friendly and spoke good english.
Metro to town (Green line) only 5 minutes walk - one journey only 18CZK - 55p - so dont even think about walking to Charles Bridge, etc.....
Area.... clean, safe residential area, lots of locals strolling about, dog walking, socialising, etc.
Some local corner shops, if you want anything that the hotel does not offer.
To sum up... good hotel, good location - would not hesitate to recommend.

ghtforward using only your city guide.3 or 7 day tickets are cheap and the layout of the city is easy to follow. You simply do not need taxis ( which can be costly). The accommodation at Hotel Ametyst is an ideal place for your Prague weekend break or if you plan your holidays in prague.

Would choose this hotel again
This hotel is set in a quiet part of Prague and is convenient for the centre of the new town.Lots of reasonably priced restaurants in the locality.Buy a pass for the underground/tram car system and all parts of Prague can be accessed within twenty minutes.Take the ultimate tour of Prague as soon as you get there if you do not know the city . It will give you your bearings and will fill a whole day very enjoyably

Beautiful Hotel in Prague, CZECH REPUBLIC
My husband and I are just back from a five day holiday in Prague. This hotel was wonderful, the safe were friendly and helpful and our room was just perfect. We had a large room on the top floor of the hotel with a balcony and a large bathroom. My only issue with this hotel was that it was slightly further out of the main tourist areas with approximately a 20 min walk to the main attractions. Also the trams that passed near the hotel seemed not to travel particularly close to these attractions either. This hotel was lovely and I would highly recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind a bit of a walk to the main tourist attractions such as Old Town Square and Charles Bridge.
NICE PRAGUE WEEKEND BREAK
Posted: 12-Jun-07 Great Hotel!
Hotel Ametyst was great! Perfect for a Prague weekend break. The staff were very friendly and were only ever too willing to help with any queries we had. The rooms were large and the service was great! I'd definately come back here, plus it is only about 800m to the nearest metro stop and from here you can travel to anywhere in the city!

I would highly recommend this hotel, very clean and very modern. I will stay here next time i'm in prague for weekend break
Stephen G from London recommends this hotel Very relaxing experience Steaying at Hotel Ametyst was a very pleasent experience the staff were friendly & helpful. Rooms clear & a good size. Will go back there again, nice trip to Prague!
We just returned from a very pleasant stay in Prague at the 4 star hotel Ametyst Prague which is located in a great residential part of Prague, Vinhorady. We felt like we "lived" in Prague by staying here rather than being tourists. The hotel is a few blocks from both the metro and tram lines which make it very accessible to Old town, Jewish Quarter and the Castle. We often just walked to these other neighborhoods. This boutiqeue hotel is in very good condition, clean with modern facilities. The room was very comfortable and the hotel staff quite helpful. I was able to get the room for $125 a night which might have been a bit too high a bid but we were pleased with the outcome.

I travelled to Prague with my husband, mother and 2 children. The Ametyst Hotel Prague was a great base for our weekend. We were close enough to the centre but far enough away to have undisturbed nights. The hotel staff were friendly and very helpfull, booking trips for us and arranging taxis etc. The children (aged 10 and 12) weren't sure if they would enjoy this trip in Prague but we all had a brilliant time.

Clean comfortable 4 star hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Area around hotel quiet residential area with some good bars/cafes/restaurants which are much better value than tourist areas in centre.

This Boutique Hotel is set in a quiet residential area in Prague. Although a good 12 mins walk from nearest metro, there is a tram stop within 5 mins walk. The room is clean and well equipped. There is a good selection for breakfast. The staff are helpful especially with directions. You do have to pay extra for sauna/steamroom.

Quiet city centre location with some nice local bars located near by. Helpful staff. Immaculately clean. Trendy Boutique Hotel near the centre and Wenceslas Square. Brian (With friends) from Bradford, United Kingdom - April 30, 2007
Very good hotel in prague centre
Excellent location close to trams, which made getting about prague relatively easy. Excellent staff who were extreamly helpful and were always available to assist. This is a very clean hotel in a nice quite area with some excellent bars nearby. Try the Irish Pub (5 minutes walk) for a sucullent steak. (Cost about ?45.00 for 4 people inc starters and plenty of Stella to wash it all down with). Would recommened this hotel to anyone wishing to visit Prague.

Friendly staff, excellent breakfast buffet, good location to any public transport however city "center" was within walking distance (apx. 20 mins by foot), nice quiet area (despite we had some worker drilling hole into the road infront of the hotel on Sat early morning)....

Ametyst Hotel Prague - 4 star hotel with 5 star service
A nice hotel situated in the New Town (residential are Vinohrady) about 20 minutes walk from Wenceslas Square. The rooms (one double, one single) were comfortable and the breakfast buffet was superb. The staff were friendly. The house wine is excellent. Prague is a lovely, vibrant city however the tourist hot spots can be overwhelming. We liked the hotel because of its quiet location. Near the hotel we found a small Czech restaurant and enjoyed dinner there. We lunched in town and that was fine too. Prague wants people to visit her, and she caters for them well eg plenty of good, clean WCs (that is important!). We had a thoroughly relaxing and most enjoyable break and we will come back.
